Two hundred Yemeni civil society organizations and institutions strongly condemned the repeated and blatant Iranian attacks targeting the security and stability of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.

The attacks targeted civilian objects and vital economic and service facilities, using missiles and drones.

In a statement issued during a press conference held today here organized by the Yemeni Development Network for NGOs, a copy of which was received by (Saba), the organizations affirmed that the blatant targeting of GCC countries led by Kingdom of Saudi Arabia—is a direct extension of Iran’s targeting of Yemen.

The statement described the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as the “safety valve of the region” and a “key pillar in supporting the Yemeni people,” stressing that attempts to destabilize it through these criminal attacks will only strengthen the Yemeni people’s commitment to the Kingdom’s central and brotherly role in supporting peace efforts and humanitarian work, and to standing alongside it and the GCC countries in all measures taken to deter this aggression and protect their sovereignty, security, and stability.

The organizations called on the international community and the United Nations to take a firm stance to put an end to these attacks, based on the provisions of international humanitarian law, which criminalize the targeting of civilian objects and violations of state sovereignty.

The issuance of this statement in both Arabic and English from Marib reflects a clear message that Yemenis stand united in support of the security of their brothers in the GCC countries and Jordan, affirming their commitment to Arab and humanitarian solidarity and their support for all options aimed at deterring aggression.
