The Republic of Yemen strongly condemns, in the strongest terms, the approval by what is known as the Israeli Knesset of a law stipulating the execution of Palestinian prisoners, and considers it an extremely dangerous escalation and a legislative precedent that entrenches an approach of extermination, and a blatant violation of international humanitarian law and a breach of international charters and agreements, namely the relevant Geneva Conventions on the protection of prisoners.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized in a statement that the approval of the death penalty in a form that mandates its execution without requiring judicial consensus represents a clear legitimization of policies of systematic killing and the physical elimination of prisoners, and reflects a rejected disregard for human values and a blatant contempt for all international efforts aimed at achieving justice and enforcing the law.

The statement reiterated Yemen's rejection of all forms of serious violations and military escalation carried out by the Israeli occupation forces against the Palestinian people in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip, considering them part of a systematic pattern of violations, which includes the arbitrary restrictions imposed on freedom of worship in occupied al-Quds by preventing Muslim worshippers from accessing the al-Aqsa Mosque.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed the Republic of Yemen's categorical rejection of any Israeli attempts to change the historical and legal status in the Islamic and Christian holy sites in al-Quds.

The Republic of Yemen warned of the serious repercussions of this unprecedented escalatory approach on the security and stability of the region, calling on the international community to assume its legal and moral responsibilities and to take effective measures that enforce deterrent actions, ensuring the cessation of these practices and providing international protection for Palestinian prisoners in accordance with the provisions of international law and treaties.
