ADEN-SABA
The Yemeni government reiterated its absolute rejection and strong condemnation of the Iranian regime's policies and frequent attempts to drag Yemen and the countries of the region into its senseless wars through its terrorist militias, which aim to undermine national states and seize their sovereign decision, turning their lands into platforms for blackmail and threatening international peace and security.
The government confirmed in a statement learned by the Yemeni News Agency (Saba) that "the new round of subversive Iranian policies, which the Houthi terrorist militias have joined, reproduces the catastrophic model experienced by other countries in the region, where armed groups outside the law continue to seize the decision over war and peace, and involve their countries in destructive confrontations to serve the agenda of the Iranian regime and its expansionist project, which the Yemeni government categorically rejects".
The government considered that the involvement of the Houthi militias in defending the Iranian regime can only be explained in the context of the attempts of this rogue regime to ease the increasing military and political pressure on it, by pushing its agents to open other fronts, this is one more evidence of the organic connection between these terrorist militias and the Iranian subversive project in the region.
The statement warned of the serious repercussions of these reckless adventures, first and foremost of which is exposing national and homeland security to grave dangers that threaten the sovereignty of the country, the resources of the Yemeni people and their national gains, in addition to exacerbating humanitarian and living conditions, disrupting supply chains and raising food and energy prices in a country already suffering from one of the worst humanitarian crises in the world.
The Yemeni government stressed that the decision of war and peace is an exclusive sovereign right of the Yemeni state and its constitutional institutions and that any military actions carried out outside this framework are considered unlawful hostile acts, making those who commit and support them fully responsible for their consequences.
The government affirmed that it will not hesitate to carry out its responsibilities in protecting civilians, preserving national sovereignty and taking all necessary measures to prevent the use of its territory as a platform to threaten regional and international security, in a manner consistent with the Republic of Yemen's obligations under international law and relevant Security Council resolutions.
It also repeated its call to the international community to take a firm stance against Iran's repeated violations of Yemeni sovereignty, to exert the utmost pressure on the Houthi terrorist militias and to support the government's efforts to restore its institutions, extend its authority over the entire national territory, and achieve the Yemeni people's aspirations for security, stability, peace, and development.
