The PLC was briefed on the state budget of the country for the year 2025, the level of fulfillment of mandatory obligations and the government's plan to mobilize national and foreign resources to ensure the coverage of priority expenditures, maintain financial performance stability and retain the confidence of the donor community.
The PLC has approved a package of measures aimed at supporting the efforts of the government and the Central Bank to boost financial discipline, increase the revenue basket, proceed with the preparation of a general state budget with specified spending ceilings and sources of funding and obliging all authorities and institutions to remit funds to the public treasury in accordance with the law.
The PLC also addressed the security developments and the desperate Houthi attempts to undermine the security and stability in the government-held governorates through their terrorist cells, commending the high readiness of the armed and security forces and their successes in combating terrorism and intercepting more shipments of weapons and Iranian narcotic materials smuggled to the militias.
The PLC welcomed the decision of a number of international organizations and agencies to move their headquarters to the temporary capital Aden, considering this an important step to protect relief workers, increase the isolation of militias and ensure the continued flow of humanitarian aid urgently needed by millions of Yemenis.
At the regional level, the PLC welcomed the continued return of Palestinian displaced persons to the Gaza Strip, looking forward to accelerating and doubling humanitarian relief efforts, rebuilding the devastated sector and the international community advancing in a genuine partnership to deter all threats to the prospects of peace and stability in the region.
