Kuwaiti Fund for Development inks $1.5 million grant agreement for Yemen

The Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development (KFAED) signed today, Thursday, a grant agreement with the International Organization for Migration (IOM) under which the Fund will provide a grant of $ 1.5 million to contribute to financing the project to develop the infrastructure of public services in Yemen.
The Kuwait Fund stated in a statement published by Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) that the proposed project aims to increase the resilience of communities, the challenges resulting from the ongoing conflict in Yemen and compete for scarce resources and services through the development of community infrastructure, enhance the ability to effectively deal with the drivers of instability and strengthen social cohesion in communities.
The project consists of small community projects that include the construction and rehabilitation of public schools, health facilities and infrastructure for drinking water and sanitation.
The grant agreement was signed on the sidelines of the 2025 Spring Meetings of the World Bank Group and the International Monetary Fund in Washington on behalf of the KUNA by Acting Director General Waleed al-Bahar and the IOM Director General Amy Pope.
