Minister of Water and Environment, Engineer Tawfiq al-Sharjabi discussed with the World Bank Director in Yemen Dina Abu Ghaida the ongoing arrangements for launching the Climate and Development Report in the temporary capital, Aden next week.

The two parties discussed also the official declaration of the report prepared by the World Bank Group in coordination with the Yemeni government.

Minister al-Sharjabi praised the distinguished partnership between the Ministry of Water and Environment and the World Bank, appreciating the support provided by the bank to the water sector over the past years.

He pointed out the challenges facing the water sector due to the war and the impacts of climate change on various sectors in Yemen, which is among the most affected countries in the world.

Al-Sharjabi emphasized the importance of maintaining a good relationship between the ministry, the World Bank, and implementing partners at all stages of project planning and implementation to ensure the preservation of water and environmental resources and the sustainability of projects.

For her part, the World Bank Director highlighted the importance of continued coordination with the Yemeni government at various stages, affirming the World Bank's ongoing support for the water sector and environmental sanitation in Yemen, and its assistance in overcoming the challenges posed by the current situation.
