Governor of Taiz Nabil Shamsan inaugurated Wednesday the activities of the first Scientific Conference on Cardiology, Vascular Diseases, and Kidney Transplantation, with the participation of 600 doctors and specialists.
The conference is organized by the Cardiology Center in collaboration with the Ministry of Public Health and Population and the University of Taiz.
Governor Shamsan praised efforts to hold the conference with a clear scientific goal and vision, aimed at promoting scientific research, exchanging ideas, and discussions that yield new information and research benefiting society.
He noted that scientific research is the cornerstone of comprehensive development and the advancement of society at all levels and sectors. He emphasized that the university is a wellspring of qualified personnel capable of understanding and implementing developmental plans and programs.
The governor highlighted the initial challenges faced in establishing the Heart and Vascular Center and Kidney Transplantation at a time when the health sector's infrastructure was completely lacking due to the war ignited by the Houthi terrorist militias. He noted that today, this center has become a source of pride for the governorate due to its achievements and the quality medical services it provides to citizens from various governorates, adhering to successful and distinguished standards.
He stressed the importance of community participation to achieve successes and aspirations, providing better services, and localizing treatment by utilizing skills and resources.
He commended the efforts of the Heart Center's management for organizing the conference and all supporting entities for this qualitative scientific event.
For his part, Dr. Abdullah Dahan, Deputy Minister of Public Health and Population, confirmed the ministry's readiness to adopt the conference's outcomes and recommendations and translate them into tangible actions.
Additionally, President of the Conference and Director of Cardiology Center Dr. Abu Tharr al-Janadi delivered a speech outlining the center's achievements with its distinguished staff and the outputs from Taiz University.
He indicated that over three days, the conference will discuss 82 research papers and scientific studies with the participation of 600 doctors and specialists, as well as holding workshops and perform surgeries at the center, alongside a training program targeting 250 doctors.
He emphasized the necessity of community participation to achieve successes in the health sector.
