The Republic of Yemen participated today, Monday, in the Global Food Security Summit, held in London.

Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Dr. Wa'id Badhib and Yemen's Ambassador to London Dr. Yassin Noa'man engaged in the gathering deliberations.

Dr. Badhib contributed to the discussions about "Predicting and Preventing Famines and Food Security Crises".,” which was presented and moderated by the British Minister of State for Middle Eastern Affairs , North Africa, South Asia and the United Nations, Lord Tariq Ahmed
Minister Badhib underlined the pressing need to take urgent measures in Yemen, underscoring the necessity of building resilience in the face of expected food crises, particularly amid an appalling food security challenge the country faced by due to instability, war, collapse of the state's institutions and instability of humanitarian aids.

Badhib underscored the need to support food security in Yemen by promoting long-term solutions, investing in the food value chain and supporting the private sector's businesses in this field.
