Yemen's delegation that participated in the spring meetings of International Monetary Fund (MIF) and World Bank (WB) group concluded a series of bilateral meetings with the senior official in charge of the IMF and WB.
The delegation already held talks with vice President of the WB Hafesz Ghanim and Director of Middle East of IMF Jehad Azoz.
The delegation included Minister of Finance Dr Ahmed Al-Fadhli, Minister of Engineer Ma'een Abdulmalik, Deputy Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Dr Nezar Ba-Sohaib, Governor of the Central Bank of Yemen (CBY) and undersecretary of the (CBY) Khalid Al-Abadi.
The delegation's talks with the WB and IMF aimed to explore the needed support for Yemen's national economy and fiscal stability. The urgently needed assistance for the CBY was a central focus of the delegation's conversations with the WB and IMF.
It is worthy to be noted that the WB group has contributed to finance development projects in our country with a total sum amounted to above one billion and 300 thousand dollars since 2016.
The delegation also conducted bilateral talks with the senior officials of the US Foreign Department, US Treasury and USAID.
The delegation's talks with the deputy of the Assistant of the US Secretary of State touched upon Yemen's economic needs to cope with humanitarian challenges, measures taken by the government and CBY to improve the economy and maintain fiscal stability.
The delegation also explored more support by the USAID. The allocated humanitarian assistance supervised by the USAID reached up to $ 850 million.
