Gold prices rose more than one percent today, Thursday, as investors digested the U.S. interest rate hike and hints of further monetary tightening, while the rally in oil prices came to a halt.
Spot gold prices increased 1.1 percent to $4,310.49 per ounce after hitting their lowest level in almost six weeks yesterday, Wednesday.
U.S. gold futures for December delivery dropped about 1% to $4,348.70.
As for other precious metals, the spot price of silver rose 1.4% to $63.83.
Platinum went up 1.6% to $1,780.55.
Palladium jumped 2% to $1,295.
