GAZA-SABA
Ten Palestinians, including nine Palestinian police officers and personnel, were killed and others injured in Israeli airstrikes and shelling targeting northern and central Gaza Strip on Wednesday.
Medical sources at al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza City told the Qatari News Agency (QNA) that nine Palestinians were killed and around 15 others injured in an Israeli airstrike on the Municipalities Police headquarters in central Gaza City.
The victims included the newly appointed Gaza City police chief, the director of the women’s police department, and several police officers, according to local sources.
The General Police Directorate said Israeli aircraft targeted the Municipalities Police headquarters in Gaza Governorate, resulting in deaths and injuries.
Meanwhile, Israeli forces arrested Minister of Jerusalem Affairs Ashraf al-Awar during a raid on his home in the Silwan neighborhood south of occupied Jerusalem.
The arrest came as the number of Palestinians detained overnight and Wednesday in various parts of the occupied West Bank rose to more than 30, including a journalist.
