MUKALLA-SABA
Presidential Leadership Council Member and Hadramout Governor Salem Ahmed al-Khanbashi held talks on Sunday with French Ambassador to Yemen Catherine Corm-Kammoun on ways to broaden cooperation in the fields of development and public services.
The meeting, which was attended by French Embassy Political Counselor Hussein Murshid and a number of local officials, underscored the close ties between Yemen and France and the need to back sustainable development efforts in Hadramout.
Al-Khanbashi presented the governorate’s key priorities and identified the areas where French assistance is most needed, saying such support would be consistent with Hadramout’s 2026-2030 Strategic Plan and help enhance public services.
He also listened to a briefing from Corm-Kammoun about her visits to several locations in Mukalla and her planned tours in other parts of the governorate.
For her part, the ambassador affirmed that France is still keen to deepen cooperation with the local authority and to support food security, entrepreneurship, and the empowerment of youth and women.
