MARIB-SABA
Marib Deputy Governor Dr. Abdrabuh Miftah met on Sunday with a delegation from the UK-based Blackburn Organization, headed by Khaled Farid, to discuss the organization's ongoing humanitarian programs in the governorate and opportunities to expand its assistance, particularly in the food and water sectors.

Miftah welcomed the organization's commitment to strengthening its humanitarian partnership with the local authority, noting that expanded support would help ease the growing burden on Marib, which hosts more than 62 percent of Yemen's internally displaced population.

He said the governorate continues to face mounting humanitarian pressures as worsening economic conditions, declining international aid, and the continued forced displacement of families by the Houthi militia from areas under its control drive a steady influx of newly displaced people into Marib.

The deputy governor reaffirmed the local authority's commitment to providing the organization with the support and facilitation needed to ensure the successful implementation of its humanitarian programs and recovery initiatives benefiting both displaced families and host communities.

For its part, the Blackburn Organization delegation thanked the local authority for its cooperation, explaining that the visit aims to assess humanitarian needs, evaluate previously implemented projects, examine opportunities to expand future interventions, and explore funding from non-traditional donors.
