Minister of Defense Meets US Ambassador

RIYADH - SABA
The Minister of Defense Lieutenant General Taher al-Aqili met Monday with the US Ambassador to Yemen, Steven Fagin and the military attaché at the embassy Colonel Sean Newcomb.

During the meeting, they discussed developments on the national and regional fronts, challenges related to securing international navigation in the Red Sea and efforts to unify military formations.

The Minister of Defense affirmed that the military institution is moving forward in strengthening its readiness to protect national sovereignty and address various challenges in a way that achieves security and stability in the country and the region.

Minister al-Aqili also pointed out the importance of the international community playing its role in supporting the capabilities of the armed forces, enabling them to fulfill their duty in protecting the country and maritime navigation routes amid ongoing threats from the Iranian-backed project’s arms, represented by the Houthi terrorist militias.
