Deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs Dr. Mansour Bajjash discussed Tuesday with the Korean Ambassador to Yemen Bong-kae means of enhancing cooperation between the two countries.
Bajjash praised Korea's positive role during its current membership in the Security Council and its presidency of the sanctions committee concerning Yemen.
He emphasized the importance of implementing the arms embargo and holding violators accountable, as well as enhancing support for mechanisms to verify and inspect Iranian weapons being smuggled to Houthi militias.
The Deputy Foreign Minister also appreciated Korea's developmental support for Yemen, highlighting the importance of strengthening this cooperation in the fields of renewable energy and reconstruction in Yemen, particularly in the liberated areas.
For his part, the Korean Ambassador affirmed his country's commitment to enhancing bilateral cooperation in various fields and supporting Yemen in facing humanitarian and developmental challenges, contributing to the restoration of security and stability and achieving economic recovery.
