His Excellency (HE) President Dr. Rashad a-Alimi, Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC), affirmed that the state is determined to protect civilians, uphold its legal standing and maintain unity in its military and security decisions, warning of the danger posed by the escalation of the South Transitional Council (STC) in Hadramout and al-Mahra governorates and the involvement of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in supporting the rebellion and undermining state institutions.

Water Minister, FAO discuss aspects of coordination

Minister of Water and Environment Eng. Tawfiq al-Sharjabi and Director of the Office of the UN Organization for Food and Agriculture (FAO) in Aden Dr. Walid Saleh discussed today, Tuesday, in the temporary capital Aden aspects of cooperation and coordination.

The discussions covered topics relating to the implementation of the projects in water and environment sectors, the Integrated Management of Water Project which is still under discussions with the donors to seek for the necessary finances, the procedures and steps need to be taken to carry out the project of livelihoods in the natural protected regions which is set to cover three natural protected areas: Socotra, Hoof and Ottoma with a total amount of $9 million funded by the Global Environment Facility.

The conversations also touched upon the project of Capacity Building about Climate Changes and Capacity Building of the two branches of the General Organization for Environment in the governorate of Hadramout and the Organization's branches in other governorate.

The total cost of the project is one million USD funded by the Royal Netherlands.
