BRICS deputy foreign ministers and special envoys for the Middle East and North Africa region have affirmed their support for Yemen's sovereignty, independence, territorial integrity and political settlement of the Yemeni issue.
In the closing statement issued by the meeting in Cape Town, the meeting called on all parties to resume the truce and enter into comprehensive negotiations mediated by the United Nations, and conveyed their appreciation for the efforts of the Special Envoy of the Secretary-General of the United Nations, the Gulf Cooperation Council and the concerned parties that contributed to finding a settlement to the conflict.
They reiterated their deep concern about the humanitarian crisis in Yemen and encouraged the international community to provide humanitarian assistance to Yemen.
