Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Ahmed Awad bin Mubarak, discussed with the Speaker of the Ethiopian Federal Parliamentary Assembly, Agegnehu Teshager, in Addis Ababa today the bilateral relations between the two countries at the level of parliamentary and legislative cooperation.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs stressed the importance of consultation and coordination of positions in all international forums, in a way that serves the interests of the two friendly countries and peoples, pointing to the historical ties and social links that unite the two countries, going deep into history.

He reviewed the efforts made by the state institutions in Yemen, in order to achieve peace, moving the wheel of development, achieving security and stability, and the difficulties and challenges they face, in order to do so, as a result of the Houthi militia's continued intransigence and refusal to submit to the will of the Yemeni people as well as the people's aspiration towards freedom, dignity and equal citizenship.

He drew attention to the various rounds of negotiation that the government held with the terrorist Houthi militia, and to the efforts exerted regionally and internationally to achieve a just peace based on the terms of reference agreed upon nationally, regionally and internationally.

For his part, the speaker of the Ethiopian assembly praised the relations between the two countries, which extend to ancient times, explaining that strengthening and developing parliamentary relations between the two countries is of great importance in light of the challenges facing the two friendly countries, considering that the reconvening of the Joint Ministerial Committee represents the main step to activate relations in various fields.
