Planning Minister meets ESCWA executive secretary

The Minister of Planning and International Cooperation, Dr. Waed Bathib, discussed today, in Beirut, with the Under-Secretary-General and Executive Secretary of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia "ESCWA", Dr. Rola Dashti, aspects of joint cooperation in the areas of development and institutional capacity-building programs for the stage of economic recovery and reconstruction.

The meeting touched on the desired results of the Arab Forum for Sustainable Development, and Yemen's representation of the Arab region in the high-level political forum on sustainable development scheduled to be held next July in New York City.
Minister Bathib stressed the importance of joint action and work to enhance the factors for achieving sustainable development goals in the region.

For her part, Dr. Rola Dosti affirmed ESCWA's continued support for Yemen in all fields, including capacity-building, institutional support and the preparation of the national vision for recovery and development.
