The committee emanating from the Joint Technical Committee on the Prevention of Child Soldier Recruitment discussed the annual plan of the committee for the year 2023 AD, and the ongoing preparations for organizing a training course for military focal points.
The meeting chaired by the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Human Rights, Nabil Abdel Hafeez today reviewed the results of the technical committee's work and efforts during the previous period, and joint coordination with UNICEF to implement activities and events, including a training course for military focal points targeting 80 army and security officers.
The meeting appreciated the efforts of the members of the Joint Technical Committee and the role of the United Nations, represented by UNICEF, aimed at protecting children from the phenomenon of recruitment, stressing the need for more joint efforts to achieve the goals of protecting children in armed conflicts.
