Presidential Leadership Council affirms commitment to reforms and paying public employees

The Presidential Leadership Council held a virtual meeting chaired by His Excellency Dr. Rashad Muhammad Al-Alimi, Chairman of the Council, and in the presence of its members, Aidarous Al-Zubaidi, Sultan Al-Arada, Abdul Rahman Al-Mahrami, Dr. Abdullah Al-Alimi, Othman Majali, and Faraj Al-Bahsani, while Tariq Saleh was absent due to the excuse of Council member.

The meeting heard from Prime Minister Dr. Maeen Abdul-Malik reports on developments in the internal situation, and government policies to deal with the repercussions of the Houthi terrorist attacks on humanitarian conditions, energy supplies, and international freedom of navigation.

The Council stressed the importance of mobilizing all resources and energies to fulfill the state's obligations towards citizens, and to thwart the Houthi terrorist plans supported by the Iranian regime, which aim to stop the wheel of economic and service reforms in the liberated governorates, and efforts aimed at improving Yemen's presence at the regional and international levels.

The Council and the government reaffirmed their commitment to continuing to pay the salaries of employees, to use effective monetary and fiscal policy tools to curb inflation, and to strengthen the position of the national currency and basic commodities, praising the encouraging indicators for reducing the state budget deficit.

In this context, the Council also praised the support of the brothers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates at various levels, leading to the grant of Saudi oil derivatives, which continued to flow successively during the past weeks, in addition to the signing with the UAE side today, Wednesday, of an agreement to establish a system Solar energy in Aden governorate with a capacity of 120 MW, which will be operational in early June.

In the meeting, the Presidential Leadership Council was briefed on the executive path of National Defense Council Resolution No. (1) regarding the labeling of the Houthi group as a terrorist organization, and the measures taken to limit its repercussions on the activities of humanitarian organizations and business establishments licensed by the government.

In addition, the Presidential Leadership Council renewed its welcome to the statement of the European Union, in which it condemns the practices of the Houthi terrorist militia in exacerbating the humanitarian crisis and destabilizing the security and stability of Yemen and the region, but indicated that the European statement was not accurate in other issues, especially with regard to the cohesion of the components of the Presidential Council, as it confirms the Council calls for the support of all the political forces and components of the Leadership Council, especially the Southern Transitional Council, as well as the Leadership Council's respect for all national issues and the political aspirations of the components of the Council.

The meeting affirmed the cohesion of the Presidential Leadership Council and the unity of all its components around the goal of restoring the state and ending the coup of the terrorist Houthi militia, praising in this context what was stated in the interview of His Excellency President Dr. Rashad Muhammad Al-Alimi to Al-Arabiya channel, in which he affirmed the unity of the Council on its supreme national goals stipulated in the declaration of the transfer of power and relevant national, regional and international references.
