Ambassador of the Republic of Yemen to Ottawa Jamal Assallal met today, Tuesday, here with the Chair of the Committee on Foreign Relations and International Trade in the Canadian Senate Senator Peter Boehm.
Yemeni-Canadian bilateral relations and cooperation was key focus of the conversations.
The discussions touched upon the economic hardships in Yemen amid Houthi militia's rejection to renew the truce which further worsening the humanitarian suffering .
Assallal highlighted the need for further Canadian contribution to the humanitarian efforts, development and capacity building programs in Yemen.
The Canadian official reiterated Canada's support for the UN-led peace efforts to reach a comprehensive and durable settlement in Yemen.
