Yemen welcomes Australia's revoking of recognition of West Jerusalem as Israel's capital

The Republic of Yemen welcomed Australia's announcement to cancel its former government's recognition of West Jerusalem as the alleged capital of the Israeli occupation entity.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed, in a statement received by the Yemeni News Agency (Saba), a copy of it, its aspiration that the rest of the countries that recognized Jerusalem as the alleged capital of the Israeli entity would take such a position by reversing its decision that contradicts the resolutions of international legitimacy, stressing the importance of concerted efforts of society.

The international community to find a just political settlement of the Palestinian issue that fulfills the aspirations of the Palestinian people.

The ministry reiterated the firm position of the Republic of Yemen towards the Palestinian cause and its support for the Palestinian people and their legitimate right to establish their independent state with Jerusalem as its capital in accordance with international legitimacy resolutions and the Arab Peace Initiative.
