Member of the Presidential Leadership Council Maj. General Faraj Salimain al-Bahsani reiterated the keenness of the Presidential Council and government to achieve comprehensive and fair peace for all Yemenis. " This is clearly evidenced by the great deal of concessions we offered to help making the UN's good offices to renew the truce successful", he said.
He made his statement during his meeting today, Thursday, with the Japanese Acting-Ambassador to Yemen.
He detailed the Japanese diplomat about the latest developments in the Yemeni arena, citing the concessions extended by the Presidential Council and government in order to help extending the truce.
He said" Unfortunately, all concessions we offered were rejected by Iran-backed Houthi militias, instead the militias resumed military escalations in different frontlines".
The Member of the Presidential Leadership Council highly appreciated Japan's support for the Presidential Council, legitimate government and the efforts aiming to maintain Yemen's security and stability, as well as Japanese contribution to humanitarian actions in Yemen.
The Japanese diplomat confirmed Tokyo's support for the Presidential Leadership Council, Yemeni government's efforts to maintain Yemen's security and establish comprehensive peace.
