Prime Minister Dr. Shaya Mohsen Zindani affirmed that Yemen will not remain an open arena for a cross-border project and that peace begins with the restoration of state authority and ending the coup.

In an interview with Asharq Al-Awsat, Zindani said the Houthis’ latest escalation, particularly the targeting of Mokha Port, threatens Yemen’s national security, economy and international maritime navigation.

He said the government is strengthening military and security readiness, protecting vital facilities, securing ports and border crossings, and combating smuggling and financing networks, while working to ensure the continuity of essential services and economic activity.

Zindani stressed that maintaining stability in the liberated areas is a key government priority, alongside economic and institutional reforms and improving basic services.

He praised Saudi Arabia’s continued political, economic, humanitarian and security support for Yemen, describing Yemen-Saudi coordination as a strategic partnership serving the security and stability of the region.

The Prime Minister called for stronger international support for Yemen’s state institutions and a peace process that addresses the causes of the conflict rather than managing the division.

He stressed that Yemen does not want the international community to fight its war, but to help Yemenis end the conflict and build a state capable of protecting itself.

“True peace cannot be an alternative to the state; it must be the result of its restoration,” Zindani said.
