Minister of Foreign and Expatriate Affairs Ahmad Awadh BinMubarak discussed Wednesday with US Ambassador to Yemen Stephen Fagin latest developments in Yemen and exerted efforts for realizing peace.
The minister confirmed necessity of implementing all articles of the UN Truce and stopping Houthi militia's violations, immediate opening roads to Taiz and ensuring paying salaries from Hodeida Ports' revenues.
BinMubarak praised US support to Yemen, especially in humanitarian field, confirming significance of continuing this support and increasing it, especially economic support to the government as economic stability will be reflected positively on all citizens and will enhance peace opportunities in Yemen.
For his part, the US diplomat reviewed US fields support, including humanitarian assistances, which exceeded USD one billion this year, pointing out to promised support to Coast Guard Forces and to Yemeni border forces in the framework of joint efforts for the fight against terrorism, in addition to support provided by USAID, especially in field of institutional capacity building.
He also confirmed his country's commitment on realizing peace in Yemen and renewed US Administration's support to the Presidential Leadership Council.
