Minister of Social Affairs and Labor Mohammed al-Zaori discussed Thursday with the delegation of Handicap International headed by Antony John financing programs and projects of people of especial needs, establishing limbs centers and partnership between the ministry and the organization in different fields.
He made it clear that the government gives people especial care and priority, calling donors to double programs of people of special needs and helping the government to continue efforts in this field.
Minister al-Zaori pointed out that Houthi militia's triggered war on Yemeni people and planting landmines and explosives in many provinces resulted in big numbers of injures and physical disabilities of thousands of women, children and men, noting that there are 4000 to 5000 disable people in four districts in one of liberated provinces alone let alone the great numbers of disable people in other liberated provinces.
All this requires swift actions and interventions to support programs of the disable, supporting, financing and establishing limbs centers in provinces of Aden, Taiz and Hadhramout.
He reaffirmed government's continuous support and facilitations to all donors to implement their programs and projects in Yemen, praising efforts of Handicap International in Yemen.
For his part, the Regional Director of the Organization Antony John confirmed continuous coordination with the ministry while implementing its projects and expanding targeted areas.
He pointed out that the organization is currently implementing projects in Aden, Lahj and Western Coast in Khokha and Makha for alleviating suffering of disable in these areas.
