Yemen, WB discuss promoting cooperation to face developmental crisis

Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Wa'id Batheeb discussed Friday with Executive Director of World Bank's Group Mirza Hassan harmony between emergency support and objectives of long-term development.
The meeting reviewed efforts of coordination between government of Yemen and World Bank's office for promoting communication and following up package of current and forthcoming projects.
Batheeb pointed out to the severe crisis in the country regarding food security, pointing out to providing swift solutions to this problem.
He urged the WB to continue its active contribution in economic recovery through supporting private sector and productive economic sectors to create work opportunities and for the sake of economic stability.
The two parties also discussed significance of reopening the WB's office in Aden and resumption of missions and tasks by WB directors of projects to follow up current and future projects after positive developments in the country and establishing the Presidential Council.
For his part, the WB official confirmed continuous support of the organization to developmental projects in Yemen, showing keenness of the WB to support government and private sector's institutions to enhance economic stability under current difficult conditions in the world.
