Taiz Governor discusses with UN envoy's advisor situations under Houthi siege

Governor of Taiz Nabil Shamsan discussed Wednesday with Advisor of the UN Envoy for Yemen Peter Rice difficult conditions of the people of Taiz over Houthi militia's siege on their province.

Governor Shamsan reviewed Iran-backed Houthi militia's violations against the people of Taiz and imposing their siege on Taiz for seven years, as this siege led to severe humanitarian crisis.

He confirmed that Taizis highly appreciate the role of the Office of the UN Envoy on inspecting conditions in the province and the militia's violations against people.

For his part, the political advisor of the UN Envoy's office confirmed understanding of social and political conditions in the province and significance of Taiz in the Yemeni political map.
