The Minister of Water and Environment, Eng. Tawfiq Al-Sharjabi and the resident representative of UNICEF in Yemen discussed in a virtual meeting today the organization's program and work plan for the next year and what has been accomplished from the previous work plan so far.
They also discussed the joint field survey program to be implemented next January in a number of liberated governorates and the mechanism for supporting local water and sanitation institutions with the fuel needed to operate water pumping stations as well as sewage treatment plants.
The discussion dealt with finances to bridge fuel gap, as well as institutional support for local institutions, branches and technical arms of the ministry, given its importance in maintaining qualified staff to ensure the continuation of services to citizens.
