Prime Minister Directs Efforts to Mitigate Flood Damage and Combat Climate Change
Prime Minister Salem Saleh bin Braik chaired a government meeting to discuss the damage caused by recent floods in several governorates and the necessary measures to deal with their effects. The meeting reviewed urgent plans to protect citizens, agricultural lands, and infrastructure, and stressed the need for concerted efforts to combat climate change.

Assallal explores Canadian support for Yemen in maritime safety

Ambassador of the Republic of Yemen to Ottawa, Canada, Jamal Assallal held talks today with the Director of Maritime Security and Safety in the Canadian Ministry of Transport Gulley Jackson.

Aspects of Yemeni-Canadian bilateral ties, latest developments in Yemen and security and environmental risks in the Red Sea was key focus of the conversations.

Cooperation between the two countries about maritime security and safety was also touched upon.

Assallal sought for Canada's support for Yemen to help build-up the Yemeni capacities in the domain of maritime security and safety.

He also asked a contribution by the Candian government to the international efforts to avert a looming environmental disaster of Safer Oil Tanker.

The Canadian official promised to consider the request for Canada's support for Yemen in the area of maritime security.
