PM, Humanitarian Coordinator discuss challenges to humanitarian activity

Prime Minister Dr. Maeen Abdulmalik received today the Humanitarian Coordinator of the United Nations in Yemen.

During the meeting, they discussed issues related to the humanitarian situation in Yemen and the existing cooperation and coordination between the government and the United Nations to activate relief and development work, identify priority projects, ensure that aid reaches those who deserve it, and the obstacles created by the Houthi militia and the militia's looting of the aid . In addition they discussed the situation of the displaced people in Marib due to the Houthi escalation of attacks on the city and IDPs camps.

The Prime Minister referred to the governmental efforts exerted to deal with the situation of the displaced in Marib as a result of the repeated terrorist attacks and the need to double the humanitarian aid. He highlighted the need for the United Nations allocation of more resources to support these efforts to provide the IDPs with shelter and urgent relief.
