The government has warned of a serious threat to the safety and security of international civil aviation over the southern Red Sea, following the reported use by the Houthi militia of Iranian-origin weapons launched from areas under its control in Hodeidah toward international air routes.

Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ahmad Bin Mubarak discussed Sunday with UN Envoy to Yemen Martin Griffiths latest developments in Yemen and means of making Saudi initiative successful.
The two parties also discussed international efforts for stopping the war and realizing peace on the bases of the three references; the GCC Initiative, the outcomes of the National Dialogue Conference and UN Resolution 2216.
Bin Mubarak re-welcomed the Saudi initiative, which gained wide international support and confirmed keenness of the government of Yemen on realizing inclusive peace on the bases of the three references.
He confirmed that Houthi militia's response to the initiative by escalating attacks confirms how the militia is submissive to Iran's agenda of destabilizing the region.
For his part, the UN envoy praised the position of the government of Yemen towards peace thorough reaching inclusive settlement for ending the war in Yemen via negotiation.
He confirmed continuation of diplomatic efforts for ending the war and alleviating humanitarian severity suffered by Yemeni people.
