Yemen: MASAM removes 1346 landmines in third week of December

A Saudi demining program known as MASAM has announced it had removed 1346 Houthi-laid landmines and unexploded ordinances in various parts of Yemen in the third week of this month.

The landmines include 180 anti-personnel landmines and 1136 UXOs. Since it started operation in Yemen, MASAM has removed 206 thousand landmines of more than a million landmines the militia has planted.

Hundreds of civilians including women and children have been killed by Houthi landmines while thousands of landmines are still under the surface of the earth, posing a threat to civilian lives.
