Yemen and China signed Tuesday cooperation economic treaty through which, China will provide Yemen a donation worth ¥ 100 million for supporting developmental projects and humanitarian aid to be agreed upon later between the two countries.
Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Najeeb al-Awej and Chinese Ambassador to Yemen Kang Yung singed the treaty.
Al-Awej expressed thanks of the government of Yemen for Chinese government for its support to developmental and relief fields, confirming keenness of the government of Yemen on boosting cooperation with China, especially in field of supporting infrastructure projects and boosting trade exchange and investment opportunities.
For his part, the Chinese diplomat praised deep-rooted relations between the two countries, pointing out that Yemen has been among the first countries to establish diplomatic relations with China in 1956.
He expressed China's welcome for Yemen's join to Silk Road agreement, a matter which will boost partnership between the two countries.
