Deputy Governor of Taiz Abdulqawi al-Mikhlafi received Wednesday Director of the Office of Coordinating Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) in Aden who is visiting the province along with the Director of the World Health Organization office in Aden and a team from the United Nations Safety and Security Office.
The visit aims at inspecting humanitarian situation and urgent needs to the province.
In the meeting attended by a number of directors of relevant offices, Al-Mikhlafi reviewed needs in different sectors, especially in fields of health, water, education and food security, pointing out to severe suffering of the people of Taiz over Houthi triggered war and besiege of the province.
Al-Mikhlafi praised efforts of international organizations, especially UN, hoping for more coordination with the local authority for preparing and implementing programs and projects to improve people conditions in Taiz.
For his part, the UN official touched upon humanitarian interventions provided by international organizations in Taiz and future cooperation, especially in field of urgent needs.
