His Excellency Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC) underlined the announcement of the establishment of the Multinational Naval Defense Alliance led by Saudi Arabia, describing this move as a strategic initiative and a very important step to boost collective security, protect international navigation and secure vital sea routes in the Red Sea, the Gulf of Aden, and the Bab al-Mandab Strait.

PM meets with US Ambassador to Yemen

RIYADH - SABA
The designated Prime Minister Dr. Ma'een Abdulmalik met on Tuesday with the American Ambassador to the republic of Yemen Christopher Henzel.

Yemeni-American bilateral ties, situations in Yemen including the ongoing efforts to accelerate the implementation of Riyadh Agreement and formation of the new government were key focus of the discussions.

The conversations also touched upon the military escalation by Houthi theocratic militia which continues to refuse to come to peace.

The Prime Minister praised the US role in supporting the legitimate Yemeni leadership and people, welcoming the US administration's announcement about re-imposing the UN sanctions including weapons embargo on Iran due to its spoiler role.

The US Ambassador reiterated his country's support for the UN envoy's efforts to make peace in Yemen, urging the Yemeni parties to constructively engage in the work with him.
