Minister of Local Administration, the Chairman of the national Supreme Committee for Relief Aid, Abdul Raqib Fatah, called on the Humanitari Coordinator, Lisa Grande, to arrange for an urgent tackling of the impact of the torrential rains and overflowing of dams in Amran, Marib governorates and the rest of the Yemeni governorates.
In his address to the Coordinator, Fatah stressed the importance of issuing urgent directives to the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) to undertake the urgent and necessary tackling measures for the effects of torrential rains on dams and water barriers and resolving the issue of swept farms and properties in the recent rains.
Fatah stressed the need to coordinate with the World Food Program and other relevant organizations to quickly send field teams to the flood affected areas, provide those in need with the necessary assistance and provide new shelter camps for IDPs in harm's way.
