Health Minister, Acting British Ambassador discuss health cooperation

Minister of Public Health and Population, Dr. Nasser Ba’oom, discussed with the Acting British Ambassador to Yemen Simon Smart, aspects of bilateral cooperation between the two friendly countries in the health field.

Ba’oom reviewed the measures taken by the Yemeni government to confront the spread of the novel coronavirus indicating that the government has harnessed all the capabilities available to combat this epidemic, and has coordinated with donors to get their medical assistance.

Ba’oom pointed out that the government handled the plague figures with clarity and transparency announcing the fatalities and infecctions as they unfold.

He said that on the other hand, the Houthi militia controlling parts of the country continue to hide the number of covid-19 infections. He stressed the need for an international pressure to force the militia to disclose the infection figures in the areas they control.
