Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Najeeb al-Awej along with Minister of Public Health and Population Nasser Ba-aum discussed Friday via video conferencing with the team of the Group of Islamic Bank and the World Health Organization Yemen's to face Covid-19.
Minister al-Awej confirmed significance of speeding up of providing health needs so as the ministry will be able to combat and limit corona virus, reconfirming the ministry's readiness to provide all facilitations to distribute these needs across the country through transparent plans to be made by the ministry of health.
He praised efforts of the Islamic Bank Group and WHO for supporting health sector in Yemen in difficult times and under corona endemic.
For his part, minister of health pointed to the spread of the endemic in some cities, a matter which requires provision of medical needs immediately for facing the virus and limit its spread.
Meanwhile, the team of the bank's group confirmed readiness of the bank to respond to health needs quickly.
The ministers, the group and the organization agreed on forming a steering committee for monitoring, following up and approving a plan for distributing equipment and medical materials.
