EU rejects the pronouncement of the so-called STC

The European Union (EU) stated that it is against the announcement of the so-called South Transitional Council (STC) and its decision to assume the self-ruling of the cities of the south above all the interim capital Aden.

The spokesperson of the EU External Service in Brussels described the move as an obstruction to the UN's efforts to reach peace and establish stability in Yemen.

For his part the official spokesperson of the EU Department of Foreign Affairs Peter Istanu told the reporters" There was an agreement reached to in November in Saudi Arabia that helps de-escalate the conflict in Yemen, we do call on the Yemeni Government and all stakeholders to put the agreement into effects".

Istanu stated that the STC's declaration of South self-ruling " will bring about problems and obstacles to the UN underway efforts to reach peace and stability in Yemen".
