Deputy Parliament Speaker Abdul-Aziz Jubari has aid Iran uses Houthi rebel militia to pose a threat to maritime navigation at Bab al-Mandab and to destabilize the region.
In his meeting with Director of Arabian Island Affairs Department at US National Security Council Alison Minor on Wednesday, Jubari reviewed Iran-backed Houthi militia's war crimes against Yemeni people.
He pointed out to the militia's looting of humanitarian aid, set their opponents to prisons and bombing their houses, brainwashing children, spreading ideological and sectarian incitements and bringing up Jihadi ideology, utilizing economic conditions of children in their held areas.
Yemen has been on the front doors of new stage and a new era of political and democratic transfer before Houthi militia's coup against the state and its institutions, he said, adding that Houthi-held areas have become- after supplying with Iran's weapons- a military barrack contains different sizes of weapons, ballistic rockets, drones and millions of land and sea mines, which have killed hundreds of Yemeni innocent people and threatening international maritime navigation.
Jubari demanded the US Administration to continue pressure on Iranian regime to stop destabilizing Yemen and the region and stop its support to Houthis and submit to peace, abandon violence and transform into a political party.
He also demanded support to the state's institutions in facing extremist groups.
The Parliament Deputy Speaker praised positions of the United States for supporting the legality in Yemen and efforts of the government in fighting terrorism.
