The Presidential Leadership Council (PLC)held an extraordinary meeting chaired by His Excellency President Dr. Rashad al-Alimi, the Chairman of the Council, with the presence of all its members Sultan al-Aradah, Tariq Saleh, Abdulrahman al-Mahrami, Dr. Abdullah al-Alimi, Othman Majli, Mahmoud al-Subaihi and Salem Al-Khanbashi to discuss national and regional developments and the proposed policies to address them at all levels. Governor of Taiz governorate Nabil Shamsan met on Monday with the delegation of the UNHCR headed by the Director of the UNHCR's Office in Aden Jackeline Barlivlit.

The session which held in the city of Attorbah devoted to discuss the situations of the refugees and IDPs in the governorate.

The discussions touched upon the refugees' humanitarian needs that should be addressed.

Shamsan cited aspects of cooperation and coordination between the local authority and the UNHCR, reporting about the refugees' pressing needs which must be addressed urgently.

He also underlined the governorate's need for greater support by the UN's agencies including the UNHCR to help the local authority deal with the increasingly growing needs of the large number of the refugees and the IDPs who have continued to arrive in the governorate.
