The U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) announced today the designation of 21 individuals and entities, as well as the identification of one vessel, on the sanctions list for their involvement in transporting petroleum products, purchasing weapons and equipment and providing financial services to the Iran-backed Houthi terrorist militias.

Governor of Taiz meets with Director of the UNHCR's Office

Governor of Taiz governorate Nabil Shamsan met on Monday with the delegation of the UNHCR headed by the Director of the UNHCR's Office in Aden Jackeline Barlivlit.

The session which held in the city of Attorbah devoted to discuss the situations of the refugees and IDPs in the governorate.

The discussions touched upon the refugees' humanitarian needs that should be addressed.

Shamsan cited aspects of cooperation and coordination between the local authority and the UNHCR, reporting about the refugees' pressing needs which must be addressed urgently.

He also underlined the governorate's need for greater support by the UN's agencies including the UNHCR to help the local authority deal with the increasingly growing needs of the large number of the refugees and the IDPs who have continued to arrive in the governorate.
