The Presidential Leadership Council (PLC)held an extraordinary meeting chaired by His Excellency President Dr. Rashad al-Alimi, the Chairman of the Council, with the presence of all its members Sultan al-Aradah, Tariq Saleh, Abdulrahman al-Mahrami, Dr. Abdullah al-Alimi, Othman Majli, Mahmoud al-Subaihi and Salem Al-Khanbashi to discuss national and regional developments and the proposed policies to address them at all levels. Minister of Planning and International Cooperation, Dr. Najeeb al-Awj discussed with the Russian Ambassador to Yemen Vladimir Dedushkina number of issues related bilateral Russo-Yemen cooperation and means of enhancing and developing it.

Al-Awj stressed Yemen's desire to strengthen in the economic field, and called on Russian companies to contribute to reconstruction and economic recovery, as well as to invest in the fields of oil, gas, telecommunications, agricultural and fisheries in Yemen.

He also stressed the importance of revitalizingthe Russian-Yemeni Committee for Economic Cooperation to work on developing relations in various economic, trade and investment fields. The two sides also agreed on the need to exchange visits in this regard in the near future.
