ESCWA affirms support to sustainable development plans in Yemen

The United Nations Economic and Social Commission for West Asia (ESCWA) has affirmed its intention to assist the Government of Yemen in tackling a number of challenges and problems facing it and to improve services, capacity building and development within the framework of development programs that covering all Yemeni regions.

This was unveiled as Yemen's Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Najeeb Al-Awj and the ESCWA's Deputy Executive Secretary-General Munir Thabet met to sign a technical cooperation agreement between Yemen and the organization.

Thabet stressed the keenness of the ESCWA to provide all kinds of assistance to Yemen to achieve economic and social development goals.

Al-Awj expressed Yemen's aspiration for a join work with the ESCWA to enhance the capacity building of human resources in state institutions and support the development of infrastructure.
