Vice President (Lt Gen) Ali Mohsen Saleh met on Wednesday with U.S. Ambassador to Yemen Mathew Tuller.
They discussed Yemeni-American bilateral ties, military and security cooperation, mainly in countering terrorism. The latest developments in the Yemeni national arena were also touched upon.
The Vice President praised the Ambassador's significant efforts and role in further boosting relations between the two countries. He deeply appreciated the U.S. administration' support for legality, security and stability in Yemen.
Mohsen and Tuller touched upon the implementation of Stockholm Agreement, mainly about Hodeidah which is overdue because of the Houthi militia's reluctance and intransigence.
General Mohsen noted that the putschist Houthi group doesn't care about the peoples' suffering, it is rather deliberately planning prolonging the conflict to gain politically, amass more money, looting humanitarian and relief aids. He cited the government's efforts to renormalize situations, re-establish security, security and basic services and mitigate the humanitarian crisis.
The Vice President reiterated the government's commitment to establish peace based on the three terms of reference including GCC's Infinitive, its operational plan, outcomes of National Dialogue and International Security Council resolutions, namely 2216.
Mohsen awarded the American diplomat a memorial shield in recognition of his great efforts he made during his mission as a U.S. Ambassador to Yemen.
Mr Tuller appreciated this noble gesture, reiterated his country's support for legality, security and stability in Yemen.
