Health Ministry launches nutritional assessment for 128,000 children

The office of Ministry of Public Health and Population in the temporary capital Aden launched a nutritional status assessment campaign for 128,000 children in the province of Aden on Saturday.

The five-day house-to-house campaign with support from the UNICEF aims at evaluating the nutrition of children from six months to below five years in age. It takes place by measuring the circumference of the mid-upper arm of the targets suspected of suffering malnutrition.

Before the campaign was launched its assigned crew had been trained in evaluating malnutrition, reporting the outcomes and referring children with medium or cute malnutrition to health centers to receive the necessary treatment.
