JICA finances workshop on enabling rural women in Abyan

A workshop on enabling rural women for improving their livelihoods has been held in Zinjubar City, the capital of Abyan.
Japanese International Cooperation Agency (JICA) financed the workshop.

Up to 24 women from different Civil Society Organizations participated in the workshop.

In the opening ceremony, the Secretary General of the Local Council in Abyan Mahdi al-Hamid confirmed significance of capacity-building of rural woman and enabling here of improving living condition through programs and support of the international agencies, including JICA.

For her part, the Director of the Rural Woman Development Department in Agriculture and Irrigation Office hereIqbal Omer said the workshop aimed at making use of Japan's experiment in fields of improving livelihood in rural society via coordination with concerned bodies.
