Yemen's Ambassador to Washington, the Permanent Representative of Yemen to the United Nations Ahmad Awaddh bin-Mubarak discussed on Wednesday with the UN Humanitarian Affairs Coordinator in Yemen Lise Grande the organization's projects and programs in humanitarian and development fields in Yemen.
Ambassador bin-Mubarak expressed government's appreciation to the UN efforts exerted in Yemen, stressing significance of coordination and cooperation with the Government of Yemen for making outmost best use of these programs and handing over humanitarian aid to more needy people with guarantees not to fall in Houthi hands for trading with them in black markets.
He also highlighted recent efforts aiming at enhancing the work of the international organizations in different provinces away of centralization, which hindered access of weak people categories to the aid as the case in Taiz.
For her part, Grande said her office is working on boosting existence of the UN in all provinces via approving basic humanitarian centers in Taiz, Hodeida and Mukalla and directing all office directors to be in all provinces, thanking the government of Yemen for support and facilitations to the organization.
The meeting dealt with efforts and steps taken by the government for economic revival and boosting national currency.
The meeting also discussed the medical bridge for transporting critical patient cases as the government is working on
preparing inclusive memo of understanding in medical field to be signed as soon as possible.
