Yemen's Minister of Local Administration, the chairman of the national Higher Relief Aid Committee, Abdulraqeeb Fatah, discussed with the WFP Country Director Stephen L. Anderson and his accompanying delegation, the humanitarian situation in Yemen and the WFP's projects and work plan for the remainder of this year.
They also discussed the importance of preparing projects that support the government's plan to enhance stability in the different governorates; the special plan to expedite the delivery of relief aid to the people of Hodeidah, Taiz and Beidha; expanding the livelihood support program currently being implemented in Aden to the rest of the government-held provinces; setting up WFP warehouses IN Socotra; and increasing the food rations for the internally displaced people.
Fatah praised the great humanitarian role the WFP plays in Yemen in coordination with the Higher Relief Aid Committee.
